{"id":1846,"date":"2015-09-12T02:16:42","date_gmt":"2015-09-11T23:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/immigratecan.ca\/?page_id=1846"},"modified":"2017-03-15T17:49:30","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T14:49:30","slug":"programma-provincii-ontario","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/immigratecan.ca\/en\/vidy-immigracii\/programma-provincii-ontario\/","title":{"rendered":"PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM OF ONTARIO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who can apply to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program?<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>International students<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Employers\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Foreign workers\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Corporations and entrepreneurs\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>International Students<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>International students can apply to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program through the following streams:<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>International students with a job offer<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>To be eligible to apply, an\u00a0<strong>International Student<\/strong>\u00a0must have a job offer that meets the following criteria:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>be an approved\u00a0permanent, full-time job offer\u00a0in a high-skilled occupation (NOC 0, A or B), and<\/li>\r\n\t<li>meets the entry-level wage levels in Ontario for that occupation.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>International Student<\/strong>\u00a0must also:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>have\u00a0graduated from or have met the requirements\u00a0of a\u00a0full-time\u00a0degree or diploma program at an eligible publicly-funded Canadian college or university\u00a0that is at least\u00a0two (2) years in length\u00a0or a\u00a0one year post-graduate certificate program, which requires a previous degree in order to qualify,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>have completed\u00a0at least half\u00a0of their\u00a0studies in Canada, and<\/li>\r\n\t<li>apply within\u00a0two years\u00a0from the date on which they graduated.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>International PhD Graduate &#8211; No job offer required<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>To be eligible to apply for the\u00a0<strong>PhD Graduate Stream<\/strong>, you must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Education:\u00a0Graduated or have met all degree requirements\u00a0from a PhD degree program at an\u00a0eligible publicly-funded university in Ontario\u00a0and have completed at least\u00a0two years of study in Ontario.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Intent:\u00a0Intention to reside and work in Ontario.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Eligibility Period:\u00a0Must apply\u00a0within two years\u00a0of the date on which your PhD degree was granted.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Legal Status in Canada (if applicable):\u00a0Must have legal status in Canada (i.e., study permit, work permit, visitor record) if currently residing in Canada. Not required if you are residing outside of Canada.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>International Master&#8217;s Graduate &#8211; No job offer required<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>To be eligible to apply for the\u00a0<strong>Masters Graduate Stream<\/strong>, you must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Education:\u00a0Graduated or have met all degree requirements\u00a0from a Master\u2019s degree program at an\u00a0eligible publicly-funded university in Ontario\u00a0and have completed at least\u00a0one academic year in length on a full-time basis.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Language: A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 English,\u00a0or French.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Residency in Ontario:\u00a0Demonstrate you have resided in Ontario for at least\u00a012 of the last 24 months\u00a0before the application submission date.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Settlement Funds:\u00a0A minimum level of savings or income to support you and your family members.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Intent:\u00a0Intention to reside and work in Ontario.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Residency at Time of Application:\u00a0Must be residing in Ontario with legal status (i.e., study permit, work permit, visitor record)\u00a0OR\u00a0residing outside of Canada. If you currently live in Canada, but outside of Ontario, you do\u00a0<u>not<\/u>\u00a0qualify.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Eligibility Period:\u00a0Must apply\u00a0within two years\u00a0of the date on which your Master\u2019s degree was granted.\u00a0 This is the date that appears on your diploma.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>If you are an<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>international student and you have received subsidies, grants or home country scholarships and have return obligations<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(e.g. you must return to your home country or another jurisdiction outside of Ontario once you complete your studies), you\u00a0<strong>cannot apply<\/strong>\u00a0for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program\u00a0<strong>unless such obligations have been fulfilled.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Employer <\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>For employers to recruit highly skilled foreign workers and qualifying international students for permanent, full-time jobs they must comply with the following criteria:<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Criteria<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Employers must have been in<strong>active business<\/strong>\u00a0(corporations, limited partnerships and sole proprietorships) for at least\u00a0<strong>3 years<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Employers must have<strong>business premises in Ontario<\/strong>\u00a0where the prospective nominee will work.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Employers must be<strong>in compliance<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>all provincial labour laws<\/strong>, including but not limited to employment standards, health and safety, and labour relations legislation.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Employers inside of the Greater Toronto Area must have:<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>a minimum of<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>$1,000,000 in gross annual revenue<\/strong>\u00a0for the most recent fiscal year,<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>five<\/strong>\u00a0permanent full-time employees who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents at the location where prospective nominee will work.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Employers outside of the Greater Toronto Area must have:\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>a minimum of<strong>$500,000 in gross annual revenue<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>for the most recent fiscal year,<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>three<\/strong>permanent, full-time employees who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents (per position to be filled each nomination year) at the location where prospective nominee will work.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Position Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Be a permanent and full-time position (minimum of<strong>1,560 hours of paid employment<\/strong>\u00a0in a 12-month period);<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Be in a\u00a0<strong>skilled occupation<\/strong>\u00a0(National Occupation Classification Code 0, A or B)<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Meet wage criteria\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>prevailing wage level &#8211;<\/strong>if the position is going to be offered to a prospective nominee applying under the\u00a0<em>Foreign Worker Stream<\/em>; or<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>entry-level wage level \u2013<\/strong>if the position is going to be offered to a prospective nominee applying under the\u00a0<em>International Student with a Job Offer<\/em>\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t<li>if the prospective nominee is already working in the position to be approved, the employer is required to<strong>pay a wage equal to or greater<\/strong>\u00a0than the wage approved for that position.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Not affect<\/strong>the settlement of any labour dispute or affect the employment of a person involved in such a dispute, or adversely affect employment or training opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Ontario.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Be<strong>necessary<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>for the company\u2019s operations.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Temporary Foreign Workers<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>If you are a foreign worker, you can apply to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program if you:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Have a job offer in Ontario.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Have a prospective employer who has first applied for pre-screening of a position and the position has been approved.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>To be eligible to apply, a\u00a0foreign worker\u00a0must have a job offer that meets the following criteria:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>be an approved\u00a0permanent, full-time job offerin a highly skilled occupation (NOC 0, A or B).<\/li>\r\n\t<li>meets the prevailing wage levels in Ontario for that occupation.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Foreign workers already working in the position that OINP approved need to be paid a wage that is equal or greater than the wage approved for that position.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>The\u00a0foreign worker\u00a0must also:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>have\u00a0two yearsof relevant work experience in the last five years, or the relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario for a regulated occupation, and<\/li>\r\n\t<li>be residing abroad or residing, working or visiting Canada on a valid work permit, study permit or visitor record.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Corporations and entrepreneurs<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>You may be eligible for this program if you have a viable business activity that will bring significant economic benefit to the province.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Corporate stream<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Your corporation must invest a minimum of $5 million CDN in a new or existing business.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Your corporation must create five full-time, permanent positions for Canadian citizens or permanent residents per key staff.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Key staff seeking nomination must be currently employed with the corporation and be essential to the establishment, continued operation and success of the business in Ontario.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Key staff must meet a minimum language requirement of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB 5) level in order to be nominated after your business has been established in Ontario.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Entrepreneur stream<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>To be eligible, you and your business partner must meet five factors.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Experience<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>At least 36 months of full-time business experience in the last 60 months.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Your experience must be as a business owner\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0as a senior manager (business management).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Net Worth<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>$800,000 CDN &#8211; $1,500,000 CDN depending on business location.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Personal Investment Funds<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>make a minimum personal investment of $500,000 CDN &#8211; $1,000,000 CDN and have a minimum equity ownership of 33.3 per cent depending on business location.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Job Creation<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>You must create at least two permanent full-time jobs for Canadian citizens\/ permanent residents.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Exploratory Visit<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>If you plan to purchase an existing business, you must make at least one business-related visit to Ontario in the last 12 months prior to the date you submitted your application.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Published 15.03.17<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Who can apply to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program?
