CANADIAN LIFESYLE
Canada is a truly unique country. Multiculturalism is considered to be its main national asset. Some Canadians believe that their country does not have any elements of the authentic culture. According to them, it was influenced by American, British and French cultures.
Nevertheless, for many years the culture of Canada is reflecting a sense of national identity of its inhabitants. Canadians often say that they are not “Americans”, so one can hardly speak of a distinct cultural identity of the country. At the same time, Canada has its national “inventions”, such as hockey. It is with excessive enthusiasm, that all residents of the country celebrate various events and festivals “imported” from other countries, such as Chinese New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival. The International Caribbean Festival may be observed in Montreal and Calgary will gladden visitors by an African style festival.
Almost all Canadians like snowboarding and skiing. These types of recreation are very popular in British Columbia, the most mountainous area of Canada.
