Помимо требований к знанию английского языка и уровню образования, заявитель должен продемонстрировать наличие чистого капитала (net) в размеро 10 млн. долларов и намерение инвестировать 2 млн. долларов в Фонд Предпринимательского Капитала Иммигрант – Инвесторов Канады ((IIVC Fund) на период 15 лет с принятием риска потери части или всего объема инвестиции. Для предпринимателей, имеющих инновационную идею и намерение открыть  ведение своего бизнеса в Канаде с созданием рабочих мест для кандцев, предоставлена возможность получить финнсирование от канадских организаций и возможность иммиграции в Канаду через пилот программу Start Up. Деятели культуры и спорта , имеющие не менее 2 лет опыта ИДТ и/или профессиональные достижения  на международном уровне, могут воспользоваться программой для Self Employed, также как и имеющие опыт  в ведении фермерского хозяйства и заинтересованные в его приобретении (стоимость от 250 тыс долларов). Наличие капитала, предпринимательский опыт, образование и уровень английского языка должны быть докумуентально подтверждаемы. Соответствие другим критериям иммиграции в Канаду как медицинские показатели, отсутствие криминальной истории, соблюдение прав человека, предоставление достоверной информации и т.д. должно быть также соблюдено. One of the most popular ways to immigrate to Canada is to apply for a Provincial Nominee Program.

Provincial nominee programs

Geographically Canada is divided into 10 provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Saskatchewan) and 3 territories – Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon.

Based on individual agreements with the Federal Government of Canada, almost every province and territory has its own immigration program to attract sought-after human resources, who will contrubute to its economic development.

Quebec holds a special place among the provinces. Since 1991 according to The Canada-Quebec Accord it is endowed with the most extensive powers for the selection and admission of immigrants. Quebec authorities establish their own requirements for individuals wishing to immigrate to the French-speaking province. Since 2011, one of such requirements is the submission of official French test (TEF) results when applying for Skilled workers category immigration program. Since August 2015 the adaptability factor is no longer taken into account, thus no points attributed. (Quebec also uses the selection ranking system to evaluate candidates for immigration).

In April 2015 quotas on accepted applications for all categories of economic immigration to Quebec (skilled workers, investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed) have been introduced.
Contrary to Quebec, the Nunavut territory does not even have an agreement with the Citizenship and Immigration Canada that would cover any immigration issue.

The most popular programs are Provincial Nominee Program of Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Nova Scotia. The Ontario provincial program is also gaining popularity.
